After recently insisting that a new Pay Per Click e commerce client of mine add conversion tracking to his site to track and justify the Google Adwords campaign was returning a good rate of sales for him, I was asked this question..
Why does the tracking code leave a visable tag on the page that it has been attached to when a conversion through a PPC campaign has occured and can this be removed?
My answer was, until now a small piece of text that read Google Site Stats would pop up on the page where the tracking had been inserted ( this was usually the "thank you for your purchase page" or reply page to another call to action undertaken by the searcher). This small but visable snippet of text gave visitors links back to conversion tracking infomation and ways to block the info being sent through.
Its " Good News", Google Adwords have recently dropped the red tape and now allow advertisers the option to omit the Site Stats Logo from the conversion tracking page of the website. However as happened to my client this new move from Google came in a while after the conversion code had been added to their site and the snippet of text was appearing as before, after a conversion. This led me to research and discover the best way you can remove the site stats text if you no longer want this displayed on conversion tracked page in your adwords PPC campaign.
