Oh dear - I seem to have been quiet for a while. I've been on holiday - and I had absolutely no Internet access - seriously. I had withdrawal for a few days.
Anyway - back and catching up with myself now. Remembered the joys of cyber geekiness. To the extent that I've managed to amuse myself with Google's new change..
Froogle has gone. Good thing too if you ask me - I always thought "Froogle" was a naff name for a service - associating a service with the word "frugal" does not seem a good idea to me EVEN if it does rhyme with Google. However - it's gone now - it's now Google Products. A much more sensible name. 2 Things I've notice so far -
1.) It was a sub domain - i.e. froogle.google.com and it is now a sub directory i.e. www.google.com/products. I'm not really sure how important that is - but it's interesting to see what Google is doing and every now and then I wonder about the merits of sub domains over sub directories.
2.) Next point - and this is the funny one for the geeks - it's a 302 redirect from the old Froogle site to the new Products site.
I bet they take satisfaction in breaking all the rules!
