Changes to Google Webmaster Tools

Last month I wrote about Google asking for feedback about Google Webmaster Tools and this month, they have introduced a few minor tweaks to the interface, some of which were on the list of requests from users.

The Sitelinks functionality has been extended to other pages of  the site, and so GWMT now allows you to edit other page’s Sitelinks if they exist. This probably only shows up for larger sites where the subpages are very powerful and rank for high traffic phrases.

You can view other people’s removal requests if you share site access and you can revoke them if required. This is probably to combat the few problems there have been of malicious removals when two companies have fallen out with each other.

The site selector now lists all the sites you own, and not just the recent ones you have looked at. (Hurrah, that one was annoying when you have a lot of sites registered).

They’ve changed the interface to highlight verified and unverified sites, which I also think is an improvement for the usability.
