Further to my posts on getting conversions on your website by developing trust and making your forms easy to use, I thought I’d post about some simple things you can do to help your site get sales.
One of the key things to remember when trying to get sales is that you need to make the buying process as simple as possible for your visitors. Don’t hide the call to action down the bottom of the screen and make it clear what action needs to be taken.
Many ecommerce solutions have fully customisable templates, so when working on your design make sure that each product has a clear “add to cart” button, that is near to the top of the screen, this will speed up the process for people who know they want to buy from you and not put them off, like a small, hidden button would do.
In addition make sure you have a clear “request callback” option, both in the menu and if possible on the product listings to, so that people can contact you to ask questions.
As I mentioned in my blog about forms, make sure you are only asking for information you need to call your potential customer back.
Look at adding some related products to the site as well, so that when your visitors are viewing your designer jeans, show them some tops by the same designer. These will not only help you to show how relevant you are to search engines but will also encourage visitors to look and buy more products.
Making your products easy to find and buy is a key element to making a sale.
