Create Longer Titles in Your Google Adwords Ads
30th April 2009 by James Daniels
For the last couple of months I have noticed that some Google AdWords ads have been appearing with titles longer than the 25 character title limit. Google had made a statement back in March that this was just an internal bug but I’ve continuously been seeing ads with longer titles throughout March and April. I spoke to Google Adwords in Dublin and they confirmed that in some cases, the AdWords title may exceed the 25 title character limit.
The reason for seeing these ads with longer titles is purely down to the use of “Dynamic Keyword Insertion”. There are many problems with using dynamic keyword insertion, 1 of them being that the ad may simply not work all the time. Also in some cases the title may not always match the ad description.
Still using “Dynamic Keyword Insertion” is a good way to test ads especially against non dynamic keyword insertion ads. Using this method may lead to an increase in Click Through Rates and better your Quality Score.
