Google Conducts survey of people using Webmaster Tools

6th May 2009 by Emily Mace

Google has recently conducted a survey of people using their webmaster tools and to see where any changes could be made to improve the service levels.

Their findings showed that more experienced webmasters found using the suite of tools they offer useful and easy to use. They also praised the ability to see many items relating to their websites in one place, including duplicate meta information, their sitemap and the crawl rate of the site.

However, Google have identified, that for newer webmaster the tools could do with some tweaks and changes, making some less technical information and explanations available to them. Google have said that their Google Webmaster Help YouTube channel will soon address some of these issues, with a series of how to videos.

Google Webmaster Tools give you a great insight to the performance of the SEO on your website, including the ability to view crawling errors on the site (such as broken pages) and to update Google of new pages you have created using the sitemap upload tool. The new how to videos Google are planning to launch should help you to get even more from their Webmaster Tools.
