Google publishes advice for Bloggers

Hot on the heels of their SEO Guide released last month, Google has published some advice for bloggers

Some of the tips they are offering bloggers are one’s we have already blogged about but I thought it was worth mentioning them again to help you get more traffic to your blog

  • Make sure you post often – regularly updating your website encourages both users and search engines to return more often
  • Use unique copy on your blog
  • Create an RSS feed for your blog
  • Use labels on your posts – this categorises your posts so that they are grouped with other relevant blog posts which creates groups of related content.
  • Monitor the comments on your posts and remove any comment spam, a good way to do this is to moderate your comments and only publish those which aren’t spam
  • Make sure the titles for your posts are descriptive to the subject you are blogging about – this will encourage users to read the blog and also search engines to see the relevancy of the copy within the blog to the title.
  • Don’t forget to add your blog to your Google Webmaster account, as well.
