As frequent bloggers, we know that it can be a struggle to find subjects, and we’ve written a few times about how to get inspiration for posts. So here is another tip on how to find subjects to write about – write a series of posts about a particular subject.
As you can see, this post itself is part of Vertical Leap’s occasional series of SEO Blogging Tips. Tips and tricks make a good subject for these series, I’ve also created a series on Measuring the Success of an SEO Campaign which I have plans to add to in my blogging in the future. My colleague has started a collection of blogs on how to create a company blog in Blogger, which again gives a process that can be talked through.
Writing a series of blogs also means you have scope to easily link from one to another, which is always a good tactic to refresh the link juice to a blog. It also lends itself to summary posts, which I have also recommended as a previous SEO Blogging Tip in this series!
A few minutes of thought about a series of blogs can give you a whole list of titles which you can note down to be written about later. Some days there just isn’t any relevant industry news to comment about, or a new product to talk about that hasn’t been done to death already. Having a series planned can help when you don’t have any immediate inspiration.
