Search Engine Reputation Management

31st January 2008 by Cameron Winslow

Too often in the today’s world of information technology where everything happens instantly and is spread through various forms of online communication, companies have the challenging task of managing their online brand reputation.

There are constantly issues with various clients brands from a disgruntled customer that decides to post a blog to articles put out by their competitors that now rank for the clients brand name.  Very much like the word of mouth spreading years ago where one person tells three friends who tell three friends, todays online social networks such as FaceBook, YouTube, etc. now allow you to tell your whole network of 438 that tell their networks of 334 which instantly has 146,292 people notified before it gets past phase 2.  Mind boggling to most traditional marketing executives and amazing enough-most of them still don’t even monitor their online brand to ensure any negative communication is countered.

There is a great article that I ran across to help Clients understand part of what we do in protecting their brand and why it is so vital to an effective overall integrated marketing strategy.  Have a look and welcome to any feedback:  http://searchengineland.com/080130-084420.php
