SearchWiki to be extended to AdWords

Regular readers of the Vertical Leap blog may have seen my (reasonably) recent posts about the Google SearchWiki.

Basically, this is a way to control the personalisation of the results served by Google – and there has also been talk about how this may well be used as a ranking factor in the future.

This has until now only been used to control Organic results, but this is also now being trialled on AdWords. One of my colleagues mentioned to me earlier in the week that they had seen this occurring, but it wasnt anything that anyone else could see at the time.

It seems that Google are running experiments on some users accounts to allow personalisation of the PPC adverts being served.

It remains to be seen what impact this might have on PPC campaigns – but is certainly something that we need to keep an eye on for the future.
