Google add a traffic forecast to it Insights for Search Tool

Google Insights for Search is the Google tool for spotting keyword trends and to compare keyword search volumes for keywords over a given period of time.  Google has now added a forecast function to this tool so that you can not only view and compare previous performance for a keyword or set of keywords but you can also see what search volumes will come in the next few months.

The Forecast information shows a year into the future and is based on the previous behaviour for the search volumes for a given keyword.

Although this forecast won’t ever be set in stone it does give you a good indication of where it looks like the search term is going based on it’s pervious performance.

The changes to Google Insights do make this tool useful to see if a keyword will be continuing to increase or decrease in total numbers of searches over the coming year, meaning that you have a good idea if a keyword is likely to perform for your SEO campaign over the coming year.
