Google Adwords Custom Alerts

Hands up who prefers the new Adwords interface? ……….Okay, so maybe not everyone is fully sold on the new interface however it is starting to provide some great pieces on functionality for advertisers.
A few weeks back I wrote a blog regarding the new Adwords Bid Simulator functionality that has recently been launched allowing advertisers to gain an insight into traffic levels and estimated costs for displaying ads in higher/lower positions. This week Google have launched the Custom Alerts functionality in the new interface allowing advertisers to easily monitor the performance of campaigns/Adgroups or keywords.
The custom alerts can be setup throughout your account to alert you as soon as important fluctuations happen in your account. You can setup an alert to monitor any fluctuations in clicks, impressions, budget, spend, CTR and ad positions.
The custom alerts feature can be found in the more actions drop down list;
You will then be asked to set the metrics in which you wish an alert to appear and whether you would like an email alert notification.
Once an alert has been raised you will find the following alarm bell in your messages section in the header of your Adwords account;
Expanding the alert box will then detail which alarm has been triggered giving you greater visibility and control throughout your account;
All of your alerts can be managed from a single location by selecting ‘manage custom alerts’ in the more actions menu;
There you have it! Unfortunately the alerts functionality cannot currently be used through a MCC, so fingers crossed Google will be rolling out this update across MCC accounts very shortly!
