Is Google Caffeine about to Launch?

The SEO community and most webmasters that rely on Google for web traffic (which lets face it, is the vast majority of people that run a website) have been waiting with bated breath for the recently announced Google Caffeine update  to go live. This was something that we looked at first in the middle of August, and until today, we have been able to see roughly where a website will rank in the newer version of Google.

However, when going to visit www2.sandbox.google.com, you are now redirected to an “error” page:

So, Google Caffeine is going to be going live on a Google.com datacentre before too long, and I would imagine that it wont be that long before it goes out to all the datacentres and becomes the “normal” search engine for Google.

My colleague Kerry had an depth look at some of her clients’ performance in the updated version of the engine and for many webmasters, Google Caffeine may not have a huge impact on a websites performance in search.

However, just like any other “big” Google update, for some this could have some big ramifications for how those websites rank and gain traffic from Google. We’ll just have to wait and see the impact that this has on performance and evaluate how to move those campaigns forward based on those results.
