More on getting the most from Firefox

Firefox is the browser we use the most in the office for running our SEO campaigns and I thought I’d cover some of the Firefox plugin’s we use to help us manage our SEO Campaigns.

Matt blogged about some useful firefox tools in April Last Year which included:
1. IETab - great for viewing a website in IE without launching IE
2. SearchStatus.   – including link reports, viewing meta information and lookup tools such as whois.
3. SEO for FireFox.  View more information next to search results – including page range, domain age and the number of links – these can be disabled if you want
4. Total Validator.    Shows broken links, W3C validation (CSS and HTML) and spell checking
5. YSlow.  Gives some indication as to why a site might be slow

Joe also wrote about Firefox plugins working with Firefox 3 in June last year some of the tools he mentioned included:
CSS Viewer  – great for viewing the CSS on a page to ensure there is no cloaking of copy going on
Web Developer Toolbar – this is a great tool with loads of SEO goodness, including an easy view of the head content such as
Firebug -shows the HTML and CSS from your website.
Greasemonkey -  you need this plugin for Greasemonkey scripts to work
Nofollow display Greasemonkey script
Numbered MSN Results  Greasemonkey script – doesn’t seem to work with Live though

On top of these we also use the below plugins

Flag Fox  shows you the country the site is hosted in
GA? shows you if Google Analytics is installed on a page
Google Toolbar  it’s generally a given to install this but it gives you quick access to the last cache date of a site using the right click menu
Serp Easy Surf  shows numbered results in Google, MSN and Yahoo SERPs

As I noted when Google Chrome came out – I do like some of the other browsers out there but not for doing SEO work.
