Google have now announced the launch a beta version of their new and improved keyword tool.
The new tool can be found by clicking the ‘Tools’ (or ‘Opportunities’) tab and clicking on the keyword tool. You will then see the following beta link at the top of the page ‘Check out the new Keyword Tool (beta)’, that will direct you through to the new beta keyword tool;

Google state that the updated tool includes additional features to further help advertisers optimise adwords accounts by combining the functionality of the keyword and search based keyword tools. I have highlighted some of the additional features below;
• Keyword ideas will be served based on the keywords entered, URL content, category and user searches.
• Able to identify search volumes based on keyword match types!
• Ability to view targeted search trends for each keyword.
• All or selected keywords can be downloaded into multiple formats.
• Easily added to existing adwords adgroups by the click of a button.
I think the most important feature to come out of this updated tool is the ability to identify search volumes for each keyword match type that wasn’t previously available.
On the whole this looks like another great tool (if used correctly) to come out off the back of the Opportunities tab, hopefully Google will continue the good work over the upcoming months!
