Whilst video and other types of social media may not be appropriate for everyone, for those businesses who can embrace these new mediums, the opportunity to generate additional traffic and ultimately new business is there for the taking.
Whilst YouTube to some is great entertainment, type in business related queries and you will be amazed as to how many business to consumer and business to business videos are present and moreover downloaded!
Just like Search Engine Optimisation, video is no different, therefore, the following tips represent quick wins in terms of maximising your video presence on YouTube.
Top Tips for YouTube Optimisation
As with optimisation for SEO similar principles apply, therefore, ensure the Title is descriptive, relevant and uses synonymous phrases.
The Description is your chance to describe what the video content contains. Remember your audience will be reading this. Don’t forget to include the keywords used in the “Title”.
Avoid single words for Tags, instead use two or three word phrases. As with SEO longer tail keywords often convert better.
Lastly, you have become listed in YouTube’s search, however, is your thumbnail image appealing enough for users to click and on view. Compare the competition, look at the download figures and determine what works best.
