Creating “valuable” social media content is crucial to developing and maintaining an effective social media marketing strategy.
That’s according to Jeanne Hopkins, a small business expert writing for Hubspot.com.
She claimed that whilst social media has become more and more popular, businesses still need to put effort into utilising it as a form of online marketing.
In order to full optimise its potential, companies must focus on creating genuine, useful content. Hopkins added: “The currency in social media is value, and that value is created by producing and sharing valuable content,”
“There is no point in using social media to drive traffic to your company’s website if you have nothing new to offer when they get there. Producing fresh content on a regular basis will keep people coming back for more,” she continued.
However it can seem like a daunting task for some, and as such, Hopkins suggesting starting off with a simple blog to get the creative juices flowing.
She told Xydo.com that blogging is a “great way” to create a steady stream of new content. In order to make the most of this medium, blogging “a few” times a week is vital – as is building a library of blogs ready to be published, before launching the blog.
Hopkins confirmed: “This will give you readers a taste of your blog’s flavour and what it’s all about.”
