Google showcases innovations in video content marketing, PPC formats, search engine marketing and more

A new website from Google aims to showcase the company’s innovations in advertising, from AdWords to the Google marketplace.

The Google Ad Innovations site was launched this week with an announcement by Susan Wojcicki, Google’s VP of product management.

Wojcicki explains that the Google’s principle in building advertising products as “simple; ads are information.”

“But the type of information that ads provide is getting more varied and inventive all the time,” she says, “and as a result ads are getting more interesting, social and useful. As advertising evolves we want to build the tools that make it possible for marketers to connect with customers in meaningful, creative ways.”

“We’ve found that the best way to do that is to focus on the user, test new approaches regularly and listen closely to the feedback of the advertisers using our products. To work closely with advertisers on what comes next, today we’ve launched Google Ad Innovations, where we’ll show you some of our latest ideas around advertising technologies and get your feedback.”

The new website allows users to view the new improvements and features to Google’s network of advertising tools. The site can be broken down into various categories such as search engine marketing, display advertising or mobile marketing, among others.

The ‘search’ tab offers more information about developments such as product listing ads, the new search funnels feature for AdWords, or location extensions with multiple addresses. Under display users can find information on remarketing, YouTube video targeting, or the ad creation marketplace.

Each offering will display information about the product’s function, an explanation of its benefits to different users, as well as information about whether it is universally available or still in the limited beta phase of deployment.
